COVID-19 is the most important issue in recent weeks. It is the official name, given by the World Health Organization (WHO), to the disease caused by a new coronavirus (SARS-COV-2). This Coronavirus can cause severe respiratory infection like pneumonia.

It was first identified in humans, in the Chinese city of Wuhan, in late 2019, having meanwhile cases on all continents.

As a disease of the respiratory tract, the symptoms are similar to those of the flu, such as:
. shortness of breath (difficulty breathing)
. cough
. tiredness
. fever

In the most severe cases, it can progress to severe pneumonia with acute respiratory failure, kidney failure and, ultimately, death.

So far, the disease incubation period is estimated to be between 2 and 14 days (until the first symptoms appear), although cases with a longer incubation period have already been identified.
Together with all the social and global measures that governments are taking, from canceling events and public spaces with lots of people, to putting some regions in quarantine, each individual is also responsible for slowing down this outbreak.

What to do to avoid Coronavirus?

WHO recommendations are clear and should be shared to the maximum extent possible so that everyone can apply it:
. Wash your hands very often with soap and water, rubbing them well for at least 20 seconds;
. It is mandatory to wash your hands before and after preparing food, before meals, after using the bathroom and whenever your hands are dirty;
. If you cannot wash your hands, use an alcohol-based solution instead;
. Use tissue paper to blow or cover your mouth when coughing. Throw away after use. After using wash your hands.
. When you don't have handkerchiefs, cough or sneeze into your arm with your elbow flexed, not your hands;
. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with your hands.

What to do if you have symptoms of COVID-19?

If you have any of the symptoms of the new COVID-19 (cough, fever, shortness of breath and tiredness) you should call the support lines of your country and follow the recommendations. In the first stage, avoid being with other people as much as possible.
